The Egyptian capital, Cairo will host on 2 and 3 November the 5th International Forum on "Communications, Information and Environment Technology", organized by the International Telecommunication Union in cooperation with the ministries of communications and the environment in Egypt.
Forum is held for the first time in the Middle East and Africa, with the participation of a number of experts, specialists, decision makers, and representatives from the private sector, national and regional organizations and international organizations working in the field of Communications, Information and Environment Technology.
Forum examines the role of governments in supporting initiatives for information technology and Green communications, during a session titled "The Road from Bali to Cancun," that more than 50 international experts and representatives from african, arab and international organizations and from international private sector companies.
Forum discusses the opportunities and challenges facing developing countries in this area include: the rational management of electronic waste, ways to assess the environmental impact of information and communication technology, and different financial mechanisms that contribute to meeting the challenges of Communications, Information and Environment Technology.
