Makkah - Holy Makkah Municipality has begun to connect the unit of geographic information systems for crisis management by issuing building permits.
The Director of Crisis Management  in Makkah Municipality,  Engineer Izzat bin Omar Sindi pointed out that the application of this new mechanism  came according to reports received by the management from control teams that a large number of breeding spots for the carrier of dengue fever are monitored at buildings under construction due to the abundance of stagnant water and a suitable environment for this type of mosquito to breed within, pointing out that as a first step departments in Makkah Municipality provided to issue building permits along with awareness publications to all reviewers that contain instructions at those buildings to avoid breeding of mosquitoes inside it.
For his part, Assistant Director of Crisis Management for Technical Affairs, Abdullah Al Sabbagh said that the control is a collective work through which the citizens and residents cooperate by following the advices and guidance to facilitate the task of home control teams in order to eradicate this epidemic.
