The investments on the services of telecommunications and information technology in
Saudi Arabia amounted to SR 94 billion in 2012, compared to SR 21 billion in 2002, an
average annual growth rate of 16%.
The Commission of Communications and Information Technology issued 292 licenses in 2012
compared to 30 licenses by the end of the year 2011.
This came in the CIT Commission's annual report for the year 1433/1434 AH corresponding
to 2012 AD, which was reported today by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
In a statement in the report, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology
and the Chairman of CIT Commission's Board of Directors, Eng. Mohammed Jamil Bin Ahmed
Mulla, commended the achievements of the Commission since its inception in the
development of the sector of telecommunications and information technology in Saudi
Arabia.
