Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman thanked the scholars and experts who
participated in last week’s anti-terrorism conference hosted by the Muslim World League
in Makkah, said Minister of Culture and Information Adel Al-Toraifi, following the
weekly Cabinet meeting.
Al-Toraifi briefed Cabinet members on his meeting with Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al-Said,
deputy prime minister for cabinet affairs from Oman, during which they discussed ways to
strengthen bilateral relations and tackle pressing Arab and international issues.
On domestic affairs, the Cabinet commended the King Faisal International Prize, which
handed out its awards on Sunday, for continuing its efforts to promote Islamic studies,
Arabic literature, medicine, and science.
The Cabinet also said that the Jazan Economic Forum would help ensure further growth and
prosperity in the region. This was part of the Kingdom’s efforts for sustained
development in all parts of the country
Al-Toraifi said the Cabinet decided that Abdullah Al-Qadi, Amir Al-Dilaijan and Faisal
bin Mohamed Al-Timimi would have their board positions renewed for a further three years
with the Geographical Information System.
The Cabinet authorized the minister of labor to finalize a memorandum of understanding
with Mexico on labor issues. It also authorized the minister of civil services to hold
talks with Kazakhstan on civil services.
The Cabinet further authorized King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology to develop
a framework agreement with the South Korean Ministry of Science, IT, Telecom and Future
Planning.
It also approved the following appointments: Abdulrahman Al-Hadlaq and Ali Al-Ghamdi as
ambassadors at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and Faisal Al-Ammaj as director general
for finance and administration at the Ministry of Interior.
It also approved Saad Al-Quraini as assistant undersecretary at the Ministry of
Interior; Bandar Al-Mandeel as adviser on technical affairs at the Presidency of Youth
Care; Abdullah Al-Eisa as an expert at the Geological Survey; and Ali Al-Harbi as
director general for auditing of civil sector accounts at the Bureau of Public Auditing.
