Riyadh, SPA:
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired the Cabinet's session at Al-Yamamah palace in Riyadh on Tuesday's afternoon.
At the outset of the session, the King extended his thanks and appreciation to His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Chairman of Anti-Corruption Committee for his efforts and keenness as well as the Committee's staff and working teams in completing the tasks assigned to it and achieved the desired objective in accordance with the royal order on its formation. The King assured that the Kingdom will continue its approach to preserve integrity, combat corruption, and eradicate it and that law enforcement and auditing bodies should strengthen their roles so that they can be able to efficiently practice their competences in protecting and preserving public funds.
Then, the King briefed the Cabinet on the content of the message received from President Ilham Aliyev of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The Minister of Media Turki bin Abdullah Al-Shabanah said in his statement to the Saudi Press Agency following the session that the Cabinet reviewed a number of reports on latest developments at Arab, regional and international arenas, commending the holding of the first round of Saudi-German political consultations which reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries, enhancing joint cooperation in combating extremism and terrorism, and regional and international issues.
The Cabinet lauded the Consultative Meeting of Ministers of Foreign affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Egypt and Jordan, which concluded in Jordan and discussed current developments in the region and enhancing cooperation and coordination to serve Arab issues and interests.
Minister of Media Turki bin Abdullah Al-Al-Shabanah said the cabinet discussed a number of cultural and heritage activities held during the past few days, and witnessed a great presence, competition and international participation. He stated that the Cabinet issued the following decisions:
First:
The Cabinet authorized the Minister of Interior or his deputy to discuss with the Chinese side a technical memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Interior of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Ministry of Public Security in the People's Republic of China in the field of combating the electronic crime, sign it, and forward the final version to complete formal procedures.
Second :
The Cabinet approved a memorandum of understanding on political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
A royal decree has been prepared .
Third:
The Cabinet authorized the Minister of Commerce and Investment, or his deputy, to discuss and sign with the Costa Rican side a draft memorandum of cooperation between the Ministry of Commerce and Investment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Foreign Trade of the Republic of Costa Rica on the development of trade and investment relations.
Fourth:
The Cabinet approved an agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Government of the United Arab Emirates to avoid double taxation in respect of taxes on income and capital and to prevent tax evasion. A royal decree has been prepared.
Fifth:
The Cabinet approved an addition of a sub-paragraph to paragraph (a) of Article (16) of the health system No. 9 stating "9 - A representative of the Ministry of Labor and Social Development shall be named by the Minister of Labor and Social Development."
Sixth:
The Cabinet approved the final account of King Khalid University for a previous fiscal year.
Seventh :
The Cabinet approved to add item (III) to its decision no. (691) and the text shall read as follows: "Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, in accordance with the requirements of public interest and following land survey referred to in item (1) of this decision, the stockholding agricultural company shall own (according to the applicable regulations) the equivalent of the reclaimed size and the ministry shall hand over the remaining land lot. An instrument in the name of the state property for the benefit of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture. The ministry to exploit or take advantage of them, according to regulations, decisions and instructions, in force, and on the basis of standards issued by a decision of the minister, and they shall not harm the agricultural projects of the company.
Eighth :
The Cabinet approved promotions to (15 and 14 ranks) and to the post of ambassador, as follows:
1- Saad bin Abdullah bin Zeid Al-Hammad to administrative adviser (15 rank), at the Ministry of Health.
2- The following names promoted to the post of (ambassador):
Abdullah bin Miteb bin Abdullah Al-Rashid.
Abdulaziz bin Hamoud bin Fahad Al-Zaid.
Masaad bin Ibrahim bin Abdullah Al-Saleem.
Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al-Shammari.
Tariq bin Abdullah bin Fahd Al-Rashid.
Sultan bin Abdullah bin Abdulrahman Al-Anqari.
Eng. Mohammed bin Ridha bin Hassan Hazazi.
3- Eng. Suleiman bin Saleh bin Hamad Al-Dohan to the post of Undersecretary for Reconstruction and Projects (14 rank), at the Secretariat of Al-Ahsa Governorate.
4- Saud bin Suleiman bin Abdulaziz Al-Suwailim to the post of Director General of Information Technology (14 rank), at the Ministry of Finance.
5- Khalid bin Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Asiri to the post of Director General, at the Head Office of the General Sports Authority, in Riyadh Region (14 rank), at the General Authority for Sport.
The Cabinet was briefed on a number of general issues on its agenda, including two annual reports from the General Investment Authority and the General Organization for Social Insurance, for a previous fiscal year.
