HRH Crown Prince Chairs Cabinet Session
Riyadh, SPA: His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, chaired the Cabinet session held today in Riyadh.
At the outset of the session, HRH the Crown Prince briefed the Cabinet on details of the phone call he received from the President of the United States of America, where HRH the Crown Prince affirmed the Kingdom's stance towards the developments in Gaza.
Meanwhile, the Cabinet followed up on the diplomatic efforts undertaken by the Kingdom in various arenas to urge the international community to assume its responsibilities in stopping military operations in Gaza and enabling the relief organizations to deliver urgent humanitarian aid to civilians and find a just and comprehensive solution that meets the aspirations of the Palestinian people.
In a statement to Saudi Press Agency following the session, State Minister, Cabinet Member for Shura Council Affairs and Acting Minister of Media Dr. Issam bin Saad bin Saeed explained that the Cabinet reviewed the latest developments of the resumption of talks in Jeddah between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), facilitated by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States of America in cooperation with the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) with the African Union. The Cabinet expressed hopes that this dialogue would constitute a positive step toward ending the conflict and reach an agreement that can achieve security and stability for Sudan and its people.
The Cabinet also examined the significant events and economic activities hosted by the Kingdom in recent days, praising the success of the 7th Edition of the Future Investment Initiative (FII) and its consequential achievements, notably the initiation of investments totalling over $17 billion.
The Cabinet addressed other items on its agenda and issued several decisions, including the following:
First:
Approving two draft guiding models for two memoranda of understanding (MoUs) for cooperation in the logistic services sector and the postal sector between the Ministry of Transport and Logistic Services of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its counterparts in other countries, and authorizing the minister of transport and logistic services, or a deputy, to discuss with the ministry's counterparts in other countries, regarding two draft MoUs for cooperation in the logistic services sector and the postal sector between the Ministry of Transport and Logistic Services of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its counterparts in other countries.
Second:
Authorizing the minister of investment, or a deputy, to sign an agreement between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Mauritania on the encouragement and mutual protection of investments.
Third:
Authorizing to discuss and sign with the Qatari side regarding draft agreements and memoranda of understanding (MoUs) between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the State of Qatar for cooperation in the areas of encouraging direct investment, the work of central banks, nuclear safety and radiation protection, the avoidance of double taxation with respect to taxes on income, and the prevention of tax evasion and avoidance.
Fourth:
Approving a tripartite agreement among the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), and the Regional Center of Quality and Excellence in Education on the renewal of the centre as centre (2nd category) under the supervision of UNESCO.
Fifth:
Approving a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Saudi Export Development Authority and the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China for cooperation in the field of participation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as a guest of honour in the China-Arab States Expo.
Sixth:
Approving the bylaw of the Saudi Red Sea Authority.
The Cabinet also reviewed several issues on its agenda and took necessary procedures regarding them.
