Vice Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Prince Mohammed bin Nayef briefed the Council of Ministers on the outcome of the visit made by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman to the US.
Presiding over the Cabinet meeting at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah on Monday, Prince Mohammed said the visit stems from the keenness of King Salman to have contact with world leaders in the best interests of the Saudi people, causes of Arab and Islamic nations and in response to an invitation made by US President Barack Obama.
Prince Mohammed bin Naif commended the historic and strategic relations between the Kingdom and the US.
He recalled assurances made by King Salman that talks between the two countries, notably a 21st century partnership, will deepen bilateral cooperation in a manner that will serve the interests of both countries.
At the regional level, the Cabinet reviewed developments in Yemen and, in this context, expressed deepest condolences to King Salman and Vice Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and deputy crown prince on the martyrdom of a number of Saudi solders fighting with alliance forces in Yemen.
The Cabinet also offered condolences to the UAE and Bahrain on the martyrdom of their soldiers in Yemen.
