King Salman meets with UN Secretary-General

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud received at Al-
Yamamah Palace here yesterday United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and his
accompanying delegation.

At the outset of the reception, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques welcomed the
United Nations Secretary General and his accompanying delegation in the Kingdom. For his
part, Mr. Ban Ki-moon expressed his pleasure to visit the Kingdom and meet with the
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.
Mr. Ban Ki-moon expressed his deep condolences on the death of King Abdullah bin
Abdulaziz Al Saud, and congratulated King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on his accession
to the throne of Saudi Arabia.
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques thanked the United Nations Secretary General for
his feelings towards the nation's loss of the late King, and his congratulations to him
on his accession to the throne.

During the meeting, they reviewed overall events at regional and international arenas
and the efforts of the United Nations towards them.

The audience was attended by Crown Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Premier;
Prince Miteb bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Minister of National Guard; Prince Mohammed bin
Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Defense, Chief of the Royal Court, and Special Adviser
to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques; Minister of State and Cabinet's Member Dr.
Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Aiban; Minister of Finance Dr. Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al-Assaf;
Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Dr. Nizar bin Obaid Madani; and the Kingdom's
Permanent Representative to the United Nations Ambassador Abdullah bin Yahya Al-
Mo'allemi.
