Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud patronized over a ceremony held Faisaliyah Hotel here last night, to grace winners of King Khalid Prize, in its 5th edition, in its main three branches: Excellence among Non-profit Organizations, Partners for Development and Responsible Competitiveness.
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques arrived to the venue, accompanied by Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, President of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage and Prince Ahmed bin Fahd bin Salman.
Upon arrival, he was received by the Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of Riyadh Region, Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of Assir Region, Chairman of King Khalid Charitable Foundation Trustees' Board and Head of King Khalid Prize Panel, other princes and senior staff of the prize body.
The ceremony was begun by reciting verses of the Noble Quran, then the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the audience viewed a visual presentation depicting historical excerpts of the late King Khalid bin Abdulaziz with his brother the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz.
Prince Faisal bin Khalid addressed the ceremony, pointing that the panel is a national foundation, a term that gathers a lot of significance, under the reign of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. Our aim is to make a real mirror to reflect the immaculate image of the motherland's official as well as non-governmental organizations, he said, indicating that responsible national commitment is shared among the nation, but away from partisan narrow-minded affiliation, since the time of the exceptional founder of the Kingdom, King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman up to the time of its nowadays conscious, resolute and well-experienced Monarch Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
Following expressing gratitude and appreciation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Crown Prince and the Deputy Crown Prince for standing support of the foundation, in addition to giving hand to charity workings, everywhere, he concluded.
Then the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud handed over the winners their awards. The first was for Prince Badr bin Mohammed bin Juluwi, Governor of Ahsa, for the first branch, the winner of the two award was Prince Turki bin Mohammed bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz, the Chairman of Orphans' Charitable Caring Association and the third was Sarah Saleh Al-Fadhil, while Ahmed Zaid Al-Malki came as the runner up.
The 3rd winner was Dr. Saud Al-Dubayyan for the scientific contributions of his group Noon. On the responsible competitiveness branch, 5 awards were accorded to Bin Zagr-Uniliver, Saudi Investment Bank, Saudi Fertilizers (Safeco) and the Middle East for Papers (Mapco) shared the third place and the last was Shahd (Special Direction) co.
At the end of the ceremony, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques received a gift from King Khalid Charitable Foundation, from Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of Assir and the Head of the Award Panel.
Following a photo-call, depicting the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques with the winners, the King left the venue and was bidden farewell, in utmost hospitality.
