Riyadh, SPA
Saudi Arabia has made significant progress in the Global Competitiveness Index 2019, jumping 16 ranks in the ICT pillar to be ranked 38 globally owing to the spread of broadband technology and improvements in the country’s digital infrastructure.
Saudi Arabia also achieved a leading position among the largest economies in the pillar of IT governance. It also placed third among the G20 countries and 11th globally ahead of Britain, which ranked fifteenth, and China, which ranked 24th. This index measures this pillar in terms of the country’s legal frameworks to adapt digital technologies such as e-commerce and financial technology.
