Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud patronized here tonight laying the foundation stone for Al-Qiddayah project ceremony, a new re-creational, sports and cultural landmark, to be established in the Saudi capital.
Upon arrival of the King to the venue, the Monarch was received by Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh Region, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Vice President of the Ministers' Council and Minister of Defense, Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Riyadh Region and Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior.
Among those receiving the King, at the venue, was also the Secretary General of the Constituent Assembly for Establishing Al-Qiddayah Project, at the Public Investment Fund Dr. Fahd bin Abdullah Tunisi, Governor of Dharma Governorate Sultan bin Saad Al-Sidairi.
Then the ceremony started, following playing the Royal Anthem and reciting verses of the Holy Quran, as the King took place, at the royal seat.
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud laid the foundation stone for the project as he put the last piece of the project logo.
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the attendees watched fireworks.
The royal anthem was played and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques left the venue of the ceremony.
The 334 sq. km Al-Qiddayah project will include recreational options and sports and cultural activities in innovative design facilities including toy cities, recreation centers and sports facilities capable of hosting world-class competitions, training academies, desert and asphalt tracks for motor sports enthusiasts, water and snow recreation activities, outdoor adventure activities, safari and nature experiences as well as historical, cultural and scientific activities. The project will also include shopping centers, restaurants, cafes, hotels, real estate projects, and services that meet the aspirations of all segments of society
