Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Issues Royal Order to Transfer Powers to Investigate, Prosecute Customs' Cases, to Public Prosecution

Riyadh, SPA:
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has issued a royal order to transfer the powers of investigation and prosecution, related to customs cases to the Public Prosecution, instead of the General Authority of Customs, within a period not to exceed three months.
The approval has followed the Attorney General announcement that the Public Prosecution is fully prepared to exercise its jurisdiction, in the investigation of crimes related to the customs system, after their transfer to the Public Prosecution, in accordance with the Code of Criminal Procedure and its Executive Regulations.
Royal order of the transference has stated that the directives included the necessity of completing transfer procedures between the customs and the public prosecution, after signing a record between the two parties to transfer all competences to the Public Prosecution.
Public Prosecution shall investigate the cases, within a period not to exceed 3-month, from 2/6/14H, on.
