Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Chairs Cabinet's Virtual Session

Riyadh, SPA:
Under the chairmanship of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, who is also the Prime Minister, the Cabinet held a virtual meeting today.
At the outset of the meeting, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques briefed the Cabinet on the phone call he held with US President Donald Trump, in which they affirmed the historical and strategic relations between the two friendly countries, as well as their keenness on continuing joint efforts to enhance the security and stability of the region.
The Cabinet followed-up the developments of Coronavirus pandemic, the efforts taken at local and international levels to control Coronavirus pandemic, the cases reported in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the medical services provided for the people infected with Coronavirus, and the efforts exerted by the concerned authorities to maintain the health of the citizens and expatriates. The Cabinet also reviewed the outcome of the active screening and tests in all regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia which contributed to a low rate of deaths compared to the global rate.
The Cabinet praised the strenuous efforts exerted by Government services to combat the Coronavirus pandemic, stressing that citizens and expatriates should abide by the precautionary and preventive measures to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.
In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Acting Minister of Media Dr. Majed bin Abdullah Al-Gasabi said that the Cabinet affirmed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s endeavor to support the stability of global oil markets, pointing out the announcement in which the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia expressed commitment to the recent OPEC Plus agreement on the cut of crude oil production, as well as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's initiative to reduce crude oil production for June by an extra voluntary amount of one million barrels per day, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's endeavor to reduce its production in May in consent with its customers.
The Cabinet said that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's initiatives aim at urging the countries participating in the OPEC Plus agreement and other producing countries to adhere to the cut rates and to provide more reduction in production in order to contribute to restoring the desired balance of the global oil markets.
The Cabinet said that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's call for organizing the Pledging Event for the Humanitarian Crisis in Yemen 2020 on June 2, 2020, is an extension of the Kingdom's humanitarian and development contribution and does affirm the Kingdom's pioneering role in supporting Yemen.
Dr. Al-Gasabi said that the Cabinet reviewed reports on the developments on regional and international arenas. The Cabinet reiterated the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s welcome of the formation of the new Iraqi government as well as the Kingdom's support for Iraq and readiness to work with the new Iraqi government on the basis of cooperation, mutual respect, historical ties and common interests in order to strengthen bilateral relations in various fields and to enhance the security and stability of the region.
The Cabinet issued the following the decisions:
First :
The Cabinet approved a memorandum of understanding between the government Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the government in the Kyrgyz Republic in the field of civil protection and civil defense.
Second:
Approval of a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic sheikhdom in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the field of Islamic affairs.
Third :
The Cabinet authorized the Minister of Media or his deputy to discuss with the Kazakhstani side a draft memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of media between the Ministry of Media in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Information and Social Development in the Republic of Kazakhstan, sign it, and submit the final version to complete formal procedures.
Fourth:
Approval of a memorandum of scientific and educational cooperation between the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Fifth:
Approval of agreement in the field of air transport services between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Senegal.
Sixth:
Approval of authorizing the President of the Control and Anti-Corruption Authority or his deputy to discuss with the Tunisian side a draft memorandum of understanding between the Control and Anti-Corruption Authority in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the National Authority Against Corruption in the Tunisian Republic in the field of preventing and combating corruption, sign it and submit the final signed version to complete the formalities.
Seventh:
Approval of the mechanism for registering and documenting foreign aid provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Eighth:
Approval of amending a number of articles of the mental health care system, issued by Royal Decree No. (M / 56) dated 20/9/1435 AH, as stated in the decision.
Ninth:
Reconstitution of the board of directors of Al-Maqar Development Company.
Tenth:
Transferring the ownership of the National Housing Company (NHC) to the state.
Eleventh:
Approving the final accounts of King Khalid University and the King Fahd Causeway Authority for a previous fiscal year.
Twelfth:
The Cabinet approved a number of promotions on the 14th and 15th
The Cabinet was briefed on a number of issues on its agenda, including two annual reports of the Saudi Wildlife Authority (canceled) and the Saudi Arabian Airlines Corporation for a previous fiscal year. In this regard, the Cabinet took relevant recommendations.
