Saudi Arabia Excels Digitally, Ranking 9th on UN EGDI, 40th in terms of Digital Infrastructure

Riyadh, SPA:
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has achieved a qualitative leap on the United Nations (UN) E-Government Development Index (EGDI), advanced 9 ranks globally to be within the higher UN EGDI classification, which includes 139 countries.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s achievement came as a result of the unlimited support of the leadership for the communications and information technology sector, reflected in the Kingdom's leaping 40 ranks on the sub-index of the “Digital Infrastructure” to rank 27th globally and 8th, among G-20 member states.
Regarding the sub-index "Human Capital" the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia moved ahead of 15 steps to rank 35th globally and 10th among G-20 countries.
Riyadh city, remarkably, has ranked 10th globally on the sub-technology index and 31st globally, in terms of cities competitiveness.
