Crown Prince chairs cabinet meeting

Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense, chaired the Cabinet's session at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh on Monday afternoon.

The Cabinet was briefed on the latest events and developments in the region and the world, including the latest developments in Syria and the continued violence and bloodshed of the Syrian people and the widening circle of violence against Muslims in Myanmar. The Cabinet reiterated the Kingdom's condemnation of these practices  and appealed to the international community to exert more sincere efforts to stop these crises.

The Cabinet stressed the importance of concerted international efforts to disarm and prevent  proliferation of mass destruction weapons. It reiterated the Kingdom's firm position on strengthening the efforts of international cooperation in this regard and supporting the efforts aiming to make the Middle East a demilitarized zone of all weapons of mass destruction.

The Cabinet commended the 1st Saudi-French Business Forum in the French capital of Paris, stressing the Kingdom's keenness to support and develop its trade relations with key partners.

The Cabinet reviewed cultural, scientific and health activities held during the week and commended King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Award for Translation and Prince Salman Holy Quran Memorization Contest for Boys and Girls.

The Cabinet approved Memorandum of Understanding on bilateral political consultations between KSA and the Swiss Confederation, signed in Riyadh on 27/04/1433 AH corresponding to 20/3/2012.
