GCC Electrical Connectivity Authority launched an electronic energy trading system for
member countries. The new system allows individuals to review available energy trading
opportunities. The Authority's CEO signaled the support received by all member
countries during emergency times. The gid contributed to continuity of service to
electricity consumers at high reliability. Surplus energy can be traded by managing of
demand and supply. The move saves fuel and gas consumed in generation of electric energy
and reduces production and operation costs in GCC energy grids
