His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Vice President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Defense, arrived here today on an official visit to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
At Khan Military Base Airport, HRH the Crown Prince was received by Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan; Commander of the Pakistani Army General Qamar Javed Bajwa; Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf Al-Malki, and Pakistani Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Raja Ali Ejaz.
Upon arrival, the artillery fired 21 rounds of greeting to HRH the Crown Prince. Welcoming HRH the Crown Prince, a number of Pakistani jet fighters accompanied his plane when entering the Pakistani airspace.
The Pakistani Prime Minister accompanied HRH the Crown Prince in a parade to the Presidential Palace in Islamabad.
Then, a bilateral meeting was held between HRH the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister of Pakistan, during which HRH the Crown Prince conveyed the greetings and appreciation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to the Prime Minister of Pakistan. On his part, the Prime Minister extended his greetings and appreciation to the King.
HRH Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Pakistan chaired Saudi-Pakistan Supreme Coordination Council at the Presidential Palace in Islamabad.
During the meeting, they reviewed the historical relations between the Kingdom and Pakistan, the prospects of bilateral cooperation between the two countries and the opportunities to develop them, in addition to discussing the latest developments and situations on the Islamic and international arenas and efforts exerted towards them.
And in the presence of HRH the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister of Pakistan, seven bilateral agreements and memorandums of understanding were signed between the two countries on technical cooperation, an agreement to finance the supply of quantities of crude oil and petroleum products to Pakistan, a framework of a memorandum of understanding to finance a power generation projects in Pakistan, a memorandum of understanding
to study an investment opportunities in the refining and petrochemical sectors in Pakistan, a memorandum of understanding in the field of mineral resources in Pakistan, a memorandum of understanding in developing renewable energy projects in Pakistan and a cooperation agreement in the field of sport.
Then, a dinner banquet was held in the honor of HRH the Crown Prince.
In his speech during the dinner banquet, HRH the Crown Prince stressed that Pakistan is a very dear country to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the Saudi people.
HRH also stressed on the strength of the strategic relations between the two brotherly countries and the desire to strengthen and deepen this relations in all fields.
HRH added that “Pakistan's GDP growth during last year 2018 was by 5 per cent. So, we believe that Pakistan will be a very prosperous country in the future and we want to make sure that we are part of that boom.”
HRH pointed out that to the signing of memorandums of understanding between the two sides today, saying “we believe that the amount of investment of 20 billion US dollars is large for the first phase and will certainly grow each month and every year for larger numbers.”
With respect to tourism, HRH the Crown Prince said “Today, we have 18 million tourists and we will achieve 50 million tourists quickly and easily in the coming years. We have many heritage and beautiful places, infrastructure and stability, and we have everything, including funding for investment in tourism."
HRH also said "We believe in our region and therefore we invest in it and we are sure that we will have one day a great Middle East.”
On his part, Prime Minister Imran Khan welcomed the visit of the Crown Prince to his country, stressing the deep relations between the two brotherly countries in all fields.
He described Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as true friend who stands with Pakistan in all circumstances.
His stressed that Saudi Arabia and Pakistan are now taking this relationship to a level which we never had before. Relationship allow investment between the two countries, which was crowned tonight by signing seven agreements and memorandums of understanding.
