Al-Soma: 60 thousand organizations interconnected to the Single Sign on service

Eng. Ali bin Saleh Al-Soma YESSER Director General confirmed that 60 thousand private  organizations have interconnected to the Single Sign On service. Al-Soma was speaking in a meeting arranged by Eastern Region chamber of commerce in Damam before CIT officials and interested businessmen. 97 government agencies have been interconnected to the government secured network (GSN) while 45 government agencies have been interconnected to the Government Service Bus (GSB), Al-Soma said. He indicated that YESSER has achieved 80% of its objectives for phase 1 and will meet all its objectives in phase 2. With 46 initiatives in phase 2, YESSER will concentrate on 6 work streams, Al-Soma said.

Eng. Al-Soma appealed to the private sector to invest in the IT sector by formation of giant corporations. With 1300 e-services delivered by government agencies through "Saudi" portal, Al-Soma is hopeful the number will increase to 3000 services.  He stated that the UN Global e-Government Readiness Survey ranked Saudi Arabia the 41st position at the world level. He also mentioned that YESSER extended its consultative services to 60 government agencies. With 147 interconnected government agencies and a content that comprises 477 regulations and by-laws, the e-Government National Portal (Saudi) is poised for visitors to avail its services, Al-Soma said.
