Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Chairs Cabinet's Virtual Session

NEOM,SPA:
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Prime Minister, chaired the Cabinet's virtual session today.
At the outset of the session, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques briefed the Cabinet on the content of the letter received from Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of the Sultanate of Oman, regarding the strong and solid relations that bind the two countries and peoples as well as ways to enhance these relations in different fields.
Then, the Cabinet reviewed the recent meetings and talks that took place between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and a number of countries with the aim of enhancing aspects of joint and multilateral cooperation at different levels and work in order to strengthen coordination on regional and international issues.
In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Minister of State, Cabinet's Member and Acting Minister of Media Dr. Essam bin Saad bin Saeed said that the Cabinet in this regard addressed the Kingdom’s statements during the meetings held last week within the framework of the G20. Saudi Arabia affirmed its interest in reforming the global economy through the "Riyadh Initiative for the World Trade Organization’s Future”, which was endorsed by G20 leaders last year. This is in addition to the Kingdom’s continued support for its works in order to achieve strong, sustainable, balanced and comprehensive growth, creating a bright and promising future for the region and the entire world.
The Cabinet welcomed Heads of States and their representatives, as well as participants in the “Saudi Green Initiative Forum and “Middle East Green Initiative Summit” that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will host during the period from 23 - 25 October, 2021, whereas hosting the two events emanates from the Kingdom’s pioneering role in protecting the climate and supporting the international community’s efforts in confronting the main challenges related to the environment, praying to Allah Almighty, in this regard, to reward everyone’s efforts with success and achieving their goals.
The Cabinet also thanked Allah Almighty for the success of the Kingdom’s efforts in confronting the novel coronavirus pandemic and limiting its impacts on all aspects of life. This was achieved through the government’s proactive steps and precautionary measures, the health sector’s efficiency, and the witnessed progress in immunizing the society from the virus, where over 44 million doses have been administered in all regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Cabinet was briefed on a number of issues on its agenda, and issued the following decisions:
First:
The Cabinet authorized the Minister of Foreign Affairs - or his representative - to discuss and sign with the Honduran side a draft general agreement for cooperation between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Government of the Republic of Honduras.
Second:
The Cabinet authorized the Minister of Media, who is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Radio and Television Authority, - or his representative - to discuss and sign with the Vietnamese side a draft memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the television field between the Radio and Television Authority of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Vietnamese Television of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
Third:
The Cabinet approved a memorandum of understanding between the Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Telecommunications and Postal Regulatory Authority of the Republic of Sudan in the field of communications, information technology and post.
Fourth:
The Cabinet approved an addition of a representative from the Ministry of Energy to the membership of the Real Estate Contributions Committee.
Fifth:
The Cabinet approved an amendment of Paragraph (2) of Article (35) of the Finance Companies Control Law.
Sixth:
The Cabinet appointed Eng. Khalil bin Ibrahim Al-Watban, representative of the Ministry of Economy and Planning, to the Board of Directors of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA).
Seventh:
The Cabinet approved two final accounts of the Saudi Industrial Development Fund (SIDF) for two previous fiscal years.
Eighth:
The Cabinet approved a promotion at rank (15).
The Cabinet also reviewed a number of general topics on its agenda. The Cabinet took the necessary measures regarding these topics.
