The activities of the second edition of the Future Projects Forum 2020, one of the initiatives of the Saudi Contractors Authority (SCA), will be launched next Tuesday, Feb 25, under the patronage of Prince Mohammad bin Abdurrahman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Riyadh region.
The forum's activities will continue until Wednesday, Feb 26, at Hilton Granada Hotel in Riyadh, with the participation of 35 government and private agencies, offering 850 projects worth more than SR 600 billion.
SCA said that the forum is an opportunity for contractors and investors to discover future opportunities and projects by several agencies under one umbrella, enabling them to prepare for their future plans, in addition, it is a platform for project owners to review their projects and enhance the principle of transparency and competitiveness, as well as an exceptional opportunity to build relationships.
The Authority also explained that the forum aims to improve the plans and decisions of contractors by knowing the time period for future projects and the estimated costs for them, as it is an opportunity for contractors to meet project owners and learn about the requirements and method of registration and the required qualifications.
Moreover, the Saudi Contractors Authority (SCA) confirmed that several agencies will benefit from the forum, the most important of which are contractors, banks, insurance companies, government agencies, private agencies, suppliers, and research and study centers, as it aims to be the first national platform that brings stakeholders together in one place and time to exchange information.
The SCA pointed out to the diversity of projects that will be presented by the agencies participating in the forum, which include oil and gas projects, petrochemicals, energy and electricity and infrastructure as well as housing, mining, and operation and maintenance projects.
It also indicated that the forum will witness the participation of Saudi Aramco, SABIC, QIDDIYA, AMAALA, Red Sea, Ministries of Defense, Energy, Housing, Justice, Transport, Municipal and Rural Affairs, Communications and Information Technology, and Labor and Social Development, in addition to “ MODON ”,“ SAAR ”, Royal Commission for Governorate of Al-Ula, Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, King Salman Energy City, Authority for Cities and Special Economic Zones, General Authority for Civil Aviation, STC, Secretariat of the Holy Capital, Saudi Customs, Saudi entertainment projects and government and private agencies.
Future Projects Forum 2020 comes after the success of its first edition in 2019, which witnessed the participation of 1000 contractors, interested and specialized and 23 government agencies and leading national companies, which presented 600 projects worth SR 450 billion.
It is worth mentioning that the Saudi Contractors Authority (SCA) was established by a Cabinet Resolution to regulate and develop the contracting sector, in a way that contributes to advancing development in the Kingdom.
The SCA seeks to achieve its goals through the permanent development of all aspects related to the work environment to reach the highest levels of productivity and quality.
