Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Delivers a Speech on Eid Al-Fitr

Riyadh, SPA:
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud delivered a speech to citizens, residents and all Muslims everywhere on Eid Al-Fitr.
King Salman added in his speech read by the Acting Minister of Media Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi:
Dear Citizens and Residents in our dear country the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,
Dear male and female personnel stationed in the face of risks and crises,
Dear Muslims worldwide,
Praise be to Allah Almighty who has honored all of us to complete fasting the holy month of Ramadan.
We thank Allah Almighty for allowing us to witness the happy Eid Al-Fitr.
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
The world, and we are part of it, is facing a health and economic pandemic the world has never witnessed.
This pandemic necessitated urgent solutions to face it.
In this regard, I would like to thank the male and female citizens and residents for standing with all sincerity and loyalty with what the relevant authorities in our country have taken of precautionary, preventive and remedial measures aimed at preserving humans' health and working to care for them, and seeking their comfort.
I greatly appreciate your celebrating Eid while staying home, committed - with all your highly awareness and responsibility - to the measures of social distancing.
And replacing the direct meetings, gatherings and exchanging congratulations with virtual and remote communicating, greeting and congratulating, as all this is for your safety since the joy of health and well-being, and every pleasure may lead to a danger of which its end could be regret.
We, brothers and sisters, by our committed to the precautionary measures and celebrating Eid in our homes and exchanging congratulations on this occasion through electronic communications and correspondence, we thus comply with the teachings of our religion and work according to its provisions in times of catastrophes and epidemics.
Safety requires understanding from whole community should to this special circumstance, which prevents Muslims from performing Eid prayers in Mosques and exchanging visits.
We reaffirm that the safety and health of the citizen and the resident is at the top of our concerns, hoping for everyone to abide by the safety measures approved to control and limit the spread of this pandemic for your safety and to protect your health.
My sons and daughters,
Your country takes great pride in its health and field cadres in all sectors that have addressed this pandemic with strength, steadfastness and sincerity, supported by their brothers in the security sectors and all other sectors, so they all deserve all of our thanks and appreciation.
These efforts contributed to reaching results full of hope and optimism in the face of the spread of the pandemic, through the treatment of the infected citizens and residents, provision of quarantine stations and taking all precautionary measures, some of which may be painful but necessary.
Based on its religious, humanitarian and national values, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has taken the initiative to exert all the efforts necessary to resist this pandemic and seek to mitigate its impacts.
Your country has also offered generous support to the World Health Organization in support of its efforts to confront the pandemic.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has also provided local and international scientific research with generous support to find coronavirus vaccine or a successful drug that helps rid humanity of this epidemic.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the capacity of presidency of G20 has called for holding a summit meeting of the group during which they discussed the health, economic and social impacts of the pandemic and took the necessary decisions.
Your country will spare no effort to provide good for the humanity in this pandemic in particular, and in all aspects of life in general.
We pray to Allah the Almighty for the return of Ramadan to us, and our country, as well as Arab, Islamic nations, and the whole world, in health, wellness and saved from all misfortune.
