The Custodian of The Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz chaired the cabinet meeting held today Monday at his palace in Jeddah. The cabinet commended the royal decree that changed the weekend holiday to Friday and Saturday. The cabinet reviewed regional and international developments including Palestine, Syria and Lebanon. The cabinet warned against continuos Israeli aggressions and violations in the occupied city of Jerusalem asserting that all violations, property approbation, construction of settlements, profanation of sacred shrines, judaization the city and displacement of its people and falsification of its history are all null and void under international laws and UN resolutions. The cabinet appealed to the international community to stop these aggressions and racial practices against Palestinian people and shrines. In the Syrian crisis, the cabinet noted the statement of the G8 summit in
Northern Ireland and the results of the meeting of the friends of Syria concluded in Doha in the light of the foreign intervention and contribution to killing of Syrian people and destabilizing of their security and safety. The cabinet expressed concern over the situation in Lebanon and events in the city of Saida. It appealed to all parties to stop fighting and escalation in order to maintain the security and stability of Lebanon.
