Crown Prince chairs cabinet meeting

Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense, chaired the Cabinet's session at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh on Monday afternoon.

At the outset of the session, Crown Prince expressed on behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud the best wishes of all success for the leaders of Arab countries at the 25th Arab Summit to be held in Kuwait on Tuesday.

The Cabinet discussed reports on the latest developments and events at Arab, regional and international arenas. Briefed on the Independent International Fact-Finding Committee report on Syria, the cabinet expressed deep concern at the suffering of Syrian refugees, especially children and women, and reaffired the need to hold accountable the perpetrators of human and war crimes and bring them to justice.

The Cabinet emphasized the commitment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to the protection and promotion of human rights at the national level and contribution at the regional and international levels. Saudi Arabia cooperation with the mechanism of comprehensive periodic review before Human Rights Council reflects its keenness on promotion and protection of human rights as a strategic choice. Saudi Arabia supports all regional and international efforts that achieve this objective, taking into account the values of the societies and respect of their traditions.
