The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia participated yesterday in a European-Asian meeting on human rights and human trafficking.
The event is being organized by the Swiss government in the city of Montreux until Nov. 27.
In a speech at the meeting, member of the Saudi delegation Dr. Khalid Menzlaoi stressed the keenness of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to fight all forms of trafficking in persons, and its accession to the Protocol to Prevent, Suppress and Punish Trafficking in Persons, especially Women and Children, supplementing the United Nations Convention on the fight against organized crime for the year 2000.
He highlighted Saudi efforts in this field, pointing out that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has a special law to combat trafficking in persons.
He explained that the Kingdom has developed another strategy to address the risk of human trafficking, particularly in preventing the exploitation of workers in any form.
