Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Second Deputy Premier, Advisor and Special Envoy of
the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, chaired the Cabinet's session at Al-Salam Palace
in Jeddah on Monday afternoon .
The Cabinet was briefed on reports on the development of events and their implications
in some of Arab countries, appreciating the message addressed by the Custodian of the
Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz on the events in the Arab Republic of
Egypt.
The Cabinet commended King Abdullah strong keenness and support for brothers in Egypt
against terrorism, misguiding and sedition and anyone who tries to tamper its internal
affairs, stressing that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia calls for solidarity of Arab and
Islamic nations with the Egyptian people in order to preserve the security and stability
of Egypt.
The Council of Ministers reiterated the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's call for the
international community represented by the Security Council to discharge its
humanitarian responsibilities towards the Syrian people appalling tragedies and
massacres committed by the Syrian regime against its own people using various types of
weapons, including internationally banned chemical weapons, warning that continued
inaction and failure to take a clear and deterrent decision that puts an end to this
heinous massacres will lead to more tragedies against the Syrian people by the Syrian
regime.
The Council of Ministers condemned the terrorist bombings that targeted two mosques and
led to a large number of dead and wounded persons in the Lebanese city of Tripoli,
expressing the Kingdom's condolences to the families of the victims and wishing
speedy recovery of the injured persons.
