The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired the Cabinet's session at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh on Tuesday afternoon.
At the outset of the session, the King briefed the Cabinet on the message received from Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of the State of Kuwait, his telephone call made to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Iraq Dr. Haider Al-Abbadi, and his meetings with Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Al-Hariri and Tunisian Interior Minister Lotfi Brahem.
The Minister of Civil Service and Acting Minister of Culture and Information Sulaiman bin Abdullah Al-Hamdan said in a statement to Saudi Press Agency following the session that the Cabinet was briefed on the results of the visit of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Vice President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Defense to the Arab Republic of Egypt, and his talks with President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, during which agreements and a memorandum of understanding were signed, commending deep, strategic bilateral relations between the two sisterly countries and their keenness on ways to enhance them in various fields.
The Cabinet reviewed latest events and developments in the region and the world, as well as the Kingdom's participation in the 37th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, reiterating that the Kingdom continues to pursue its efforts to promote and protect human rights at all levels and cooperate and deal positively with international human rights mechanisms, as it is witnessing a qualitative shift towards progress and prosperity through focusing on human beings, growth and making human rights' protection and promotion as a firm approach in all taken measures emanating from the principles of the Islamic Sharia which protects human beings and preserves their dignity regardless of race, color or sex.
