King Salman chairs cabinet meeting

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired the Cabinet's session at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah on Monday evening.

 
In his statement to Saudi Press Agency, Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Adel bin Zaid Al Toraifi said the Cabinet reviewed the latest developments and events in the region and the world, re-affirming the Kingdom's condemnation of the terrorist bombing which occurred in Imam Al-Sadeq Mosque in the State of Kuwait,the terrorist bombing and killing of the Attorney General of the Arab Republic of Egypt Hisham Barakat and the terrorist attack on a hotel in Sousse in Tunisia and the terrorist act that took place near the French city of Lyon, considering such acts as terrorist crimes contrary to all values and moral principles, expressing its condolences to the governments and peoples of both countries and the families of the victims, wishing a speedy recovery for the injured people.


The Cabinet expressed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's condemnation of the continuing acts of violence, discourse of hatred, incitement and racial discrimination against the Muslim community in Myanmar, stressing that the humanitarian tragedy suffered by Rohingya Muslims and their exposure to acts of murder, rape, forced eviction of the population. Muslim community is subject to ethnic cleansing campaigns, non-recognition of them as citizens, denied free movement and preventing them from the most basic human rights, including food and health care. This situation requires urgent action from the international community to call on the Government of Myanmar to adopt a transparent and comprehensive policy to stop all practices of persecution and deportation, and to speed the recognition of Rohingya Muslims minority without any discrimination or ethnic classification.


On domestic affairs, the cabinet was briefed on results of the 22nd annual meeting of governors of regions and the topics discussed during the meeting which focused on the level of achievement in the regions, providing services to citizens and expatriates and facilitating their affairs. In this regard, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques stressed care for the interests of the citizens and expatriates, following-up of their needs and serving the homeland, citizens and expatriates.

The Cabinet extended its thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for patronizing the ceremony for laying the foundation stone  of 'Khair Makkah' Charitable Investment Project for Society for Children with Disability, and allocating of SR (50) millions for the project.

The Cabinet praised the efforts of Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Society for Children with Disability and all those interested in charitable and volunteering works as well as all contributors and supporters of such charitable deeds for what has been achieved by the Society, which represents one of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's leading institutions of charitable works.
