Arab League has called for concerted efforts at the regional and international levels to achieve peace along with finding radical and sustainable solutions to the escalating crises and to adopt effective development and strategic plans to protect the rights of peoples to enjoy an appropriate standard of living.
The Arab League said in a statement issued today on the occasion of "Arab Human Rights Day" which falls on 16 March each year, that the Arab Human Rights Day this year is being revived under the slogan of "human rights and sustainable development" as the two factors have their great moment and each of them supports the other in accordance with the UN Declaration on the Right to Development, the Arab Charter on Human Rights and the relevant UN resolutions.
The statement referred to the daily suffering of the Palestinian people in their endeavors to secure their fundamental legitimate rights, which are continuously violated by the Israeli occupation authorities as well as the economic and social difficulties resulting from the construction of apartheid wall and the continuation of expanding settlements policy in the occupied Palestinian territory.
