The New York Times praised the important role and effective contribution made by King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology to save a space experiment to test and demonstrate two principles of the general relativity theory of Einstein through the "Gravity Probe" project - b, which is the first product of cooperation between the city and Stanford University of the U.S.
The city, through such cooperation, will establish a joint center of excellence in the field of space and aviation, and be involved in many projects, including space experiments via Saudi satellites.
His Highness Prince Dr. Turki bin Saud bin Mohammed Al Saud, Vice-Chairman of the city for research institutes, said the agreement with Stanford University comes within the framework of keenness of Saudi Arabia for formation of a cooperative relationship in the field of future space missions, technical cooperation in analysis and systems of the satellite, "Gravity Probe".
Number of specialists from the city is to work together with researchers at Stanford. He added, according to AlYoum Newspapwr, that the specialists and engineers from the national program for satellite technology will design and manufacture new systems based on this experience, and that these systems will be tested via Saudi satellites in cooperation with NASA.
