Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Receives Riyadh Book Fair Guests

Riyadh, (SPA) - Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh Region, confirmed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia shoulders its responsibility before the Arab and Islamic nations and the entire world in its capacity as the custodian of the two holy mosques, the direction to which Muslims turn during prayers (Kiblah) and the cradle of Islam.
This came when Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz received in Riyadh today the guests of Riyadh international book fair.
He said the Kingdom, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, his Crown Prince and the Second Prime Minister, derives its legitimacy from the holy book of Quran and the Sunna (sayings and deeds of Prophet Mohammed - peace be upon him) and that it is graced to undertake this responsibility.
He explained that the Kingdom is open for all, noting that holding an annual book exhibition aims at exchange of ideas, thoughts and views on all areas of knowledge.
He gave an account on the recent history of the Arab peninsula, crowned by the sustaining and successful unification of the multi-ethnic land.
He said Saudi Arabia is a moderate state despite the existence of few extremists on its land.
He urged authors and writers to continue tolerating readers and critics for the benefit of the entire mankind.
He highlighted the positions of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud as regards his call for dialogue, co-existence of cultures and religions, political moderation and cooperation among nations and peoples.
He confirmed that His Excellency the Minister of Culture and Information and his aides are always ready to receive knowledge and information-seekers about the Kingdom and its culture, citing the holding of the annual book fairs and other cultural activities.
