Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will participate in the Thirteenth Meeting of Arab Ministers responsible for the Environment to be held on Wednesday in the Omani capital Muscat.
 His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Nasser bin Abdul Aziz, General President of the Meteorology and Environmental Protection will head the Saudi delegation to the meeting.
The meeting, according to SPA, will discuss a number of topics including the establishing of an integrated study on the red tides phenomenon of the Arabian Gulf and the effects, Green Environment Initiative, the international and regional conventions on the environment, the Convention on the preservation of wildlife and natural habitats in the States of the Council, and the Convention on Biological Diversity and United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
It will review also the Vienna Convention for the Protection of the Ozone Layer and the Montreal Protocol, conventions on environmental management of chemicals and hazardous wastes, in addition to the most important environmental issues between the countries of the Joint Council. The GCC Center to face the environmental disasters, the Commission on environmental awareness and information, and the award for the best work environment are some of the issues for discussion.
Ministers will study also cooperation with regional and international organizations such as the European Union, the Regional Organization for the Protection of the marine environment, the United Nations Program for Environment.
