Launching of an Ambitious Program To Make The Economic Cities More Competitive

Riyadh. The 4th International competitiveness Forum 2010 which was organized by the General Investment Authority has kicked off in Riyadh yesterday under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and participation of Government Senior Officials, Businessmen and more than 100 international Businessmen and Politicians who will discuss the most important issues and challenges facing the world economy.
According to Riyadh newspaper, the Governor of the General Investment Authority Mr. Amr Addabbagh declared the take off of an ambitious program titled (60x24x7) which obliges The Economic Cities to provide all Government Agencies' Services To Investors and residents in not more than sixty minutes all the 7days of the week. The Governor added that the program will replace the previous program (10x10) by the end of the year 2010. The program, he said which will be applied in the Economic Cities, aims to transform these cities into the most competitive in the world. Governor Addabbagh added that the program is an actual interpretation of the concept of competitiveness, pointing out that the Kingdom will participate in this program.
The Governor of the Authority stressed that enhancing the competitiveness of any country requires building a comprehensive system that includes  the canonical and organizational environments, administrative procedures governing the public and private sectors, economic  and social initiatives and the infrastructure in addition to continuous development and upgrading of the human cadres from the onset of the first phases of education up to graduation from institutions of higher learning to take over the development process and meet the needs of the labor market in the country in a changing and developing world.
